Fonda Lee

Fonda Lee is the author of the Green Bone Saga, beginning with Jade City (Orbit), which won the 2018 World Fantasy Award for Best Novel, and continuing in Jade War, which releases in the summer of 2019. She is also the author of the acclaimed young adult science fiction novels Zeroboxer (Flux), Exo and Cross Fire (Scholastic), which have garnered accolades and award nods from the Junior Library Guild, the American Library Association, the Oregon Council of Teachers of English, and been named to numerous state and provincial reading lists. Fonda’s work has been nominated for the Nebula, Andre Norton, and Locus Awards, and been named to Best of Year lists by NPR, Barnes & Noble, Powell’s Books, and Syfy Wire. She won the Aurora Award, Canada’s national science fiction and fantasy award, twice in the same year for Best Novel and Best Young Adult Novel. Fonda is an experienced and dynamic public speaker who has spoken and taught at conventions, conferences, high schools, and libraries around the country. She is a recovering corporate strategist, black belt martial artist, and an action movie aficionado residing in Portland, Oregon. You can find Fonda online at and on Twitter @fondajlee.

Fonda is an experienced and enthusiastic public speaker with a background in corporate strategy and marketing. She has spoken and paneled at numerous conferences and conventions including: the American Library Association, WorldCon, Tuscon Book Festival, Willamette Writers, Clarion West Workshops, Cascade Writers, Portland Film Festival, and many others. She has spoken to high school teens, library patrons, and aspiring authors across the country. She is a veteran panel moderator and interviewer, and is happy to speak to any size of audience.
