Related Experience

In addition to teaching at the University of California Riverside, I do on average 5 – 6 speaking/teaching engagements per year, all over the world. Have taught numerous times at the Clarion science fiction and fantasy writing workshops. Co-founder and now on the Advisory of the Carl Brandon Society, which seeks to advance the conversation on race and ethnicity in spec fic. Have been a juror for the Tiptree Award, the Bocas Award for Caribbean Literature, the Toronto, Ontario, and Canada councils for the arts, and many others.

Accessibility Needs

Non-smoking hotel room, no artificial perfume in rooms. Need to arrive the day before an appearance in order to be well enough.
