Linda D. Addison

Linda D. Addison

Linda D. Addison is the award-winning author of four collections including How To Recognize A Demon Has Become Your Friend. She is the first African-American recipient of the HWA Bram Stoker Award® and has published over 300 poems, stories and articles. Catch her latest work in the upcoming anthology Scary Out There (Simon Schuster).

She is the poetry editor at Space & Time magazine.

Linda is the only author with fiction in three landmark anthologies that celebrate African-Americans speculative writers: the award-winning anthology Dark Matter: A Century of Speculative Fiction (Warner Aspect), Dark Dreams I and Dark Dreams II (Kensington), and Dark Thirst (Pocket Book). Her work has made frequent appearances over the years on the honorable mention list for Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror and Year’s Best Science-Fiction.

I have been a panelist at multiple writer conferences, as well as a Guest of Honor and Special Guest.

Developed workshop for fiction writers and poets to play with different constructs of poetry (haiku, sonnet, villanelles, free verse, etc) to hear variations of ‘music’ that can add to their own creative voice. Some time will be available for attendees to practice writing.
