David Brin

David Brin is an astrophysicist whose best-selling novels (among them Hugo, Nebula & Campbell winners) include The Postman, Earth, Startide Rising and Existence.  David has appeared on shows like Universe and Life After People. He regularly keynotes major conferences and speaks to groups from corporations to the White House.

David’s EARTH & Existence explore near-future trends. His Uplift Saga envisions animals joining our civilization. Kevin Costner filmed The Postman. His nonfiction book about the information age – The Transparent Society – won the Freedom of Speech Award of the American Library Association.

Multiple Hugos, Nebula, Campbell and Locus awards. With degrees from Caltech and UCSD, Dr. Brin serves on panels re: NASA innovative concepts, nanotech, SETI, defense and technological ethics. He is a fellow of the Institute for Ethics in Emerging Technologies and helped found UCSD’s Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination.
