Benjamin C. Kinney
Benjamin C. Kinney is a neuroscientist by day, SFF writer by night. He's a graduate of the Viable Paradise workshop, who writes across the breadth of science fiction and fantasy: ghosts and artificial intelligences, steampunk engineers and conquistador dragons. Since May 2015, he's been the Assistant Editor of Escape Pod.
At Washington University in St. Louis, he studies how amputees' brains change after they lose a hand, and how everyone can learn to use their non-dominant hand more effectively. Once upon a time, he built cyborg monkeys. He lives in St. Louis with his cats and wife, now that she's returned from the HI-SEAS Mars simulation mission.
Benjamin C. Kinney's short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in: Strange Horizons, PodCastle, Flash Fiction Online, Metaphorosis, Cat's Breakfast (Third Flatiron Press), Compelling Science Fiction, Stupefying Stories, Mind Candy (Myriad Paradigm Publishing), Diabolical Plots, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, and more.
