Barbara A. Barnett
Barbara A. Barnett is a Philadelphia-area writer, musician, orchestra librarian, and Odyssey Writing Workshop graduate. Her short fiction, which ranges from the dark to the wacky and whimsical, has appeared in publications such as Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet, Orson Scott Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show, Shimmer, Daily Science Fiction, Flash Fiction Online, Fantasy Magazine, Black Static, and Wilde Stories: The Year's Best Gay Speculative Fiction. She is a contributor to Speculative Chic and currently serves as managing editor of the Odyssey Writing Workshop's blog.
Barbara earned her Bachelor of Arts in music (vocal performance) and English literature from the University of Maryland and her Masters in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University. Outside of fiction writing, she has spent most of her professional life working for performing arts organizations, from grant writing and database management for opera and theater companies to her current position as a part-time librarian with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
