Alan Baxter

Alan Baxter is a British-Australian author who writes dark fantasy, horror and sci-fi, rides a motorcycle and loves his dog. He also teaches Kung Fu. He lives among dairy paddocks on the beautiful south coast of NSW, Australia, with his wife, son, dog and cat. He’s the award-winning author of several novels and over sixty short stories and novellas. So far. Alan has been a finalist in the Aurealis Awards, a two-time finalist in the Australian Shadows Awards and a four-time finalist in the Ditmar Awards. He won the 2014 Australian Shadows Award for Best Short Story (“Shadows of the Lonely Dead”) and is a past winner of the AHWA Short Story Competition (“It’s Always the Children Who Suffer”).

Related Experience

I've run numerous workshops and courses at all kinds of venues including Worldcon, various writers' centres and festivals. I've also taught and presented at high schools and libraries. I've been a guest panellist as numerous conventions and a special gust at Supanova in several Australian capital cities.
